A comprehensive psychiatric evaluation will be conducted by a mental healthcare provider and typically involves an interview that allows the provider to learn more about the patient’s history and symptoms. Comprehensive psychiatric evaluations are detailed exams and can be used to diagnose mental health disorders and developmental delays. A comprehensive psychiatric evaluation may also involve diagnostic tests and psychological assessments. Some of the lab tests may be used to determine if underlying medical conditions exist. Pharmacogenomic testing may also be recommended to help guide the process of selecting the most appropriate medication for you. The goal of a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation is to help a patient on the road to healing.
After an initial consultation, the healthcare provider may make a series of recommendations and provide a treatment plan. Your treatment plan will be based on your symptoms or results from your diagnostic tests and may include medications, lifestyle modification, and/or psychotherapy.
A telehealth appointment allows the patient to receive mental health care services remotely via secure videoconferencing. Like an in-person encounter, the healthcare provider can evaluate and care for the patient from a convenient location. It’s important to note that telehealth may not be the right choice for everyone. While it is effective and convenient, some individuals may prefer in-person interaction. If telehealth is not right for you, please visit our clinic.
Blossom Behavioral Health ensures that the interaction between the patient and the health care provider is completely secure and HIPPA compliant. The teleconferencing software encrypts all forms of data, including video and audio. Your personal information is important to us, and we take every precaution to protect it.
Most commercial insurance companies cover telehealth visits, but coverage can vary by the insurance carrier. While Blossom Behavioral Health accepts a few insurance plans, some companies will not provide coverage for telehealth visits. Please contact your insurance carrier before scheduling a telehealth visit to inquire if telehealth is a covered benefit for your plan.
If you are late for your scheduled appointment without prior notice, you may be requested to reschedule your appointment. There will be no charge when you re-schedule.
Patients will be charged in full for the cost of the missed appointment if they are a “no show” or if they do not provide at least a 48-hour cancellation notice from the time of their appointment. The only exception is for hospitalizations.
Blossom Behavioral Health makes patient privacy and confidentiality one of our highest priorities. We adhere to all applicable laws and regulations to ensure your information is kept confidential and secure.

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is a non-invasive, FDA-approved treatment for conditions like Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and other mental health conditions. TMS uses magnetic pulses to stimulate specific areas of the brain that are thought to be underactive in depression. This stimulation helps “wake up” these areas, improving mood and providing relief from depression symptoms without the need for medications or invasive procedures.
TMS works by using a magnetic coil that is placed near your scalp. The coil emits electromagnetic pulses that target the area of the brain involved in mood regulation. These pulses are designed to stimulate underactive neurons, helping to “reset” brain activity and improve mood. TMS treatments are administered in an outpatient setting, with each session lasting around 19 minutes.
Yes, TMS is a safe and well-tolerated treatment. It is FDA-cleared and has been shown in numerous clinical studies to be effective for people who suffer from Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) and other conditions. The procedure is non-invasive, with no surgery or sedation required. There is no downtime, and most people return to their normal activities right after each treatment.
While TMS is generally safe, like any medical procedure, it can have some side effects. The most common side effect is mild discomfort at the treatment site, such as a headache or scalp pain, which typically resolves after the first few sessions.
Most patients experience minimal discomfort during the procedure. You may feel a tapping or tapping sensation on your scalp as the magnetic pulses are delivered, and occasionally some mild discomfort or headaches may occur. This discomfort usually subsides after a few sessions. The treatment is not painful, and you can resume your regular activities immediately after your session.
Each TMS session typically lasts about 19 minutes. The full course of treatment usually involves daily sessions for 4-6 weeks, depending on your treatment plan and individual needs. After this initial phase, some patients may be recommended for maintenance sessions to help prolong the benefits of the treatment.
TMS has been shown to be effective in treating people with Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) and other conditions, with many patients experiencing significant improvements in their symptoms. In clinical studies, approximately 83% of patients who completed their TMS treatment cycle saw measurable improvement, and 62% reached full remission, meaning they no longer met the criteria for a diagnosis of depression.
Effectiveness may vary based on individual factors such as the severity of depression, the duration of symptoms, and whether other treatments have been tried previously.
TMS may be right for you if you have been diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), or another mental health condition and have not found relief from medications or other treatments. TMS is often recommended for people who:

Blossom TMS works with several major insurers, including Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, United Healthcare, and others. Coverage and out-of-pocket costs can vary depending on your insurance plan, so it’s important to verify your benefits before beginning treatment.
If you don’t have insurance or your plan doesn’t cover TMS, we offer affordable self-pay options and financing plans to make treatment more accessible.

Once you begin treatment, your provider will guide you through each session and monitor your progress to ensure the best results.
The most common side effects of TMS are mild and temporary. These may include:
These side effects are generally short-lived and subside within a few hours to a few days after treatment. Severe side effects are rare, but as with any treatment, it’s important to discuss any concerns with your provider before beginning TMS therapy.
Many patients begin to experience improvement in their symptoms within the first few weeks of treatment. However, the full benefits of TMS may not be evident until after several sessions. Most patients see significant improvement by the end of their 4-6 week treatment cycle, and some achieve lasting remission from their depression or OCD symptoms.
Results may vary based on individual factors, and ongoing maintenance sessions may be recommended to sustain the benefits.
Yes! In addition to treating Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), Blossom TMS is FDA-cleared for treating obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) as well. We are also exploring the potential benefits of TMS for other conditions, such as anxiety, PTSD, and more.
